NPC100/120 Series Pressure Sensors (MEMS)
The NPC-100 series of disposable medical pressure transducers are designed for single-use medical applications. The devices are compensated and calibrated in accordance with industry-recognized guidelines from the American Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). The sensors integrate a high-performance pressure sensor chip with temperature compensation circuitry and gel protection in a small, low-cost package.
The NPC-100 series is manufactured in a Class 1000 clean room to minimize possible sources of contamination. A specially designed silicon micromachined sensing element is used to meet or exceed all industry requirements while minimizing assembly and test costs to maximize value for the customer. Thick film laser trimming is used for final compensation and calibration. Sensitivity is maintained at ±1% and linearity is better than 1% over the physiological operating pressure range.
The NPC-100 series is mass-produced as ceramic plates and shipped as complete arrays or as individual sensors packaged on tape and reel for customer automation. This assembly method draws on proven manufacturing techniques in the electronics industry to produce high quality, high volume products.
